IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM THE COLLECTOR 2025
Clark County property owners will soon find their County Tax Statements in their mail. There are a few things I would like to point out as you look at the new format.
- If your Real Estate is in a Drainage District the tax charged for that Drainage District will be shown on the Real Estate bill for that parcel. The two taxes will be totaled and payable at the same time.
- The new Senior Tax Credit for Real Estate, homesteads only~ is shown as a separate amount. It lets the taxpayer l on the parcel that has their residence. If you signed up for the Senior Tax Credit in 2025 but have moved to a new residence since your application, YOU NEED TO APPLY FOR THE CREDIT IN THE YEAR OF 2026. The Application dates are March 1st -May 29th 2026. Please contact the Collector’s office if you have sold the property that was your primary residence at the time of your 2025 Application.
- If you have made Quarterly Installments throughout the year to be applied to your 2025 real estate taxes, please note that the total amount that was Pre-Paid is shown as “Payments” and deducted from the “Base Tax”. As always, please check the “Payments” amount with your records to ensure that everything your records show you paid ahead is included.
- If you have a MERCHANTS LICENSE you do not need to make a separate check when paying this year. We have the new licensing system up and running now so you only need to make one check.
- And like last year we ask that you cut the bottom portion of the statement(s) you are paying and return it to us, so we know exactly what you are paying. If you pay in person, please bring all statements with you.
- WE DO NOT WANT ANYONE TO HAVE TO PAY LATE FEES FOR SOMETHING THAT IS MISSING, (A NEWLY PURCHASED PROPERTY, A VEHICLE THAT WAS NOT REPORTED ON YOUR ASSESSMENT SHEET, OR A STATEMENT THAT YOU DIDN’T RECEIVE ETC). OUR NEW SYSTEM DOES NOT ALLOW US TO INCLUDE A SUMMARY PAGE AS WE DID IN THE PAST, SO PLEASE CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS CAREFULLY. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE TAXPAYER TO PAY TAXES ON PROPERTY THEY OWN. WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WAIVE THOSE FEES.
We are looking forward to a smooth and productive 2025 tax year. We appreciate any questions, comments, or input you may have.
Best Regards,
Michelle Allen, Collector
